In fighting any war or conflict, we need both an offense and a defence strategy.

We see this phenomenon in several scenarios:

  • Championship-winning coaches win the game by using both strategies.
  • During the medieval era, warriors fought with both a sword to attack their opponent, and a shield to defend themselves.

In the war against disease, modern medicine is fighting with offense strategy only and losing the battle. Without a defence strategy, we are unable to prevent disease.
